Swap Zcash (ZEC) Without KYC

Zcash (ZEC) is a privacy coin launched in 2016. It uses zero-knowledge proofs so that shielded transactions can hide sender, receiver and amount while the network still verifies them. Like Bitcoin, it has a maximum supply of 21 million coins; Zcash blocks come about every 75 seconds.

Privacy in Zcash is optional. Transparent addresses start with t1 and work like Bitcoin addresses: everything is public. Shielded addresses (zs for Sapling) and unified addresses (u1), which bundle several receiver types, keep funds in the shielded pools. Many services still accept or pay only transparent addresses, so a common pattern is to receive ZEC on a transparent address and then shield it inside your wallet.

Zcash has faced the same exchange pressure as Monero: several exchanges have delisted it in some regions. Under the EU's AML Regulation, from 10 July 2027 crypto providers in the EU will not be allowed to keep accounts that use anonymity-enhancing coins, a definition that covers coins with optional privacy features. Holding ZEC in your own wallet is not banned by that rule.
